TreeBanking Business Model
- TreeBanking purchases and/or leases deforested land in tropical nations such as Indonesia, Africa, Ecuador and Costa Rica. Our projects range from converting under-performing agricultural farms of a few hundred acres, to avoided deforestation (REDD) projects involving millions of acres.
- Our scouting trips (see videos) to Ecuador and Costa Rica, along with the ongoing efforts of our associates in other nations provide us with a constant stream of potential projects sites.
- First a pioneer species like Teak is planted to created a canopy needed for the native trees to thrive. The trees are planted and maintained by local workers. The health of the plantation is monitored by licensed forestry engineers.
- In nations that have appropriate conservation easement laws, the land is legally "converted" to an ecological easement which specifies that the land can only be used for reforestation for 99 years.
In addition to creating sustainable, eco-friendly jobs in the communities we're working in, our projects protect and restore habitat for some of the most endangered species of plants and animals on the planet.

- Thinning and harvesting of the trees begins between years 5-7 and continues through year 25. Harvest timing is established by licensed forestry engineers. (Teak trees grow approximately 20' tall in the first year).
- As the pioneer trees are harvested TreeBanking and its Partners earn the profit from the sale of the lumber, and native trees are then planted in their place, creating a newly established rainforest.
- While we begin harvesting and selling canopy lumber within 7 years, our master plan creates biodiverse rainforests within 25 years. Our unique platform will allow you to tangibly help the planet, offset your carbon footprint and participate in the burgeoning carbon market. What could be more fulfilling than that?
